OHA Regular Monthly Luncheons
Monthly lunches There is an OHA lunch on the first Tuesday of each month, except January, at the Waratah Hotel, North Hobart, from 12.30. Cost is $20 for the meal. Drinks, except sprits, are subsidised by the Association. Numbers attending, currently around 30 each month, is growing. While awaiting the meal, Old Hobartians are sometimes addressed by one of the number on what turns life has taken since being at HHS.
OHA Annual Functions
Melbourne Cup Day Lunch As this falls on the first Tuesday in November it attracts a huge turnout of Old Hobartians. There are several sweeps ($1 to $20) conducted on the afternoon’s big event and this lunch tends to be a somewhat longer affair than other months. Make sure that you keep Tuesday 6th November free this year.
Christmas Lunch The first Tuesday of December is also a big day for OHA members. Last year there was a special OHA Christmas Dinner arranged with the Waratah comprising a choice of two roasts or fish and a choice of two desserts plus tea or coffee for $25. This amount included all drinks. Mark Tuesday 4th December in your diaries now.
Annual Dinner at The University Club Following two successful annual dinners at the University Club, the 2013 Annual Dinner was replaced by the Centenary Dinner. We were delighted to return to the University Club on Friday in 2014 for another great evening. The 2018 dinner was held at the same venue on the 28th May. Details are on the News Updates Page. UBET (Elwick) Race Course Luncheon. Held on a Sunday close to the Melbourne Cup Day each year – date for 2018 is yet to be advised.
Members, old scholars and their partners are invited to attend this special day.
Cost estimated to be around $65 for entry, lunch and a race book.

OHA New Year Barbecue at the Hobart Waterworks Reserve.The Annual OHA Barbecue is held early each year at the Waterworks Reserve – Hut 9.
BYO everything! A great time had by all. In 2019 the date will be advised well beforehand.
